 Why am I giving away art classes for kids?

I’m fighting a global epidemic: the waning imaginations and creativity of our kids!

Schools across the world tend to focus on data - they take statistics from exams and figure out which subjects to target and improve. And that’s a good thing!…the problem is though, how does that apply to subjects that are hard to measure, like art?

You see, budgets for art and creativity are often cut from school curriculums every year, because it’s hard to quantify imagination, creative thought and out-of-the-box thinking. But what’s the result? A global epidemic is forming, one where kids are losing their imaginations and creativity. It’s something I take very seriously!

The artists, the creative thinkers, the problem-solvers - these are the people that make discoveries, invent solutions and change the world.

Not only that, creativity is the now the number 1 quality employers and CEO’s look for in their staff.

Here’s what art does for kids:

• it teaches them creative and innovative thinking, the ability to look differently at the world

• it builds self-confidence and improves decision-making ability

• it helps kids express themselves emotionally

• it has been proven to improve overall academic ability and success in other subjects

• it releases kids from the pressures to conform

• its therapeutic and teaches kids to focus, taking their minds off the troubles they face

So now you see, dear parents, why I am on a quest to build the creativity and imaginations of every single child I can. And that is why I, Anne Smerdon, am giving away free kids art classes.
