WHERE IT ALL BEGAN…
The Artory school started in 2015, born from the heartache I felt every time I heard someone say “I can’t draw” or “I’m not creative”. It pained me to see people missing out on the relaxation, healing and FUN that comes from making art, just because they didn’t think they could.
I knew that absolutely everyone is creative and absolutely everyone is capable of being an artist.
All I had to do was show them. And so, the Artory was born.

I’m Anne, an award-winning artist from Australia. I’ve been using watercolour, oil and charcoal for 10+ years now, exhibiting and selling my work both nationally and internationally. I’m known for my loose, effortless-looking watercolours and my realistic oil paintings of birds. I’ve won awards, been represented by commercial art galleries and sold my work to high-profile collectors. But the thing I’m most proud of is my art classes!
You see, I’m proud of breaking the stereotype that “some people are naturally creative and some people aren’t”. There is nothing more satisfying than finding someone who “isn’t artistic” or who “can’t draw a stick figure” and showing them just how creative they are! And that’s exactly what I do at the Artory.
I’ve run the Artory art school in Kingscliff since 2015 and have hands-on experience teaching adults and children. That means, unlike most other watercolour teachers you'll find online, I’ve spent the last 7 years teaching watercolour to real people in real classes, so I know exactly what mistakes students are likely to make and how to help you avoid them. I’m known for taking my students to the next level without making them feel insecure or overwhelmed. Many of my students have even gone on to sell their work and win art competitions!
